Position Summary:
The site facilities support role will ensure all plant, equipment and facilities are maintained and in a safe working state.
You will build a working relationship with all Departments and contractors, so day to day functions run smoothly and understand the purpose of the systems at the site and their working requirements.
You will look in all areas striving to bring about continuous improvement and best practice and provide support to the whole team to achieve excellent customer service both internal and external ensuring the safety for all staff, visitors and contractors on site is maintained at all times.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all systems are appropriately inspected, and that a maintenance program is in place.
- Ensure the sprinkler test is carried out on a weekly basis checking that all systems function against check list
- Ensure the sprinkler zone valve test is carried out on a weekly basis checking that all zones function on a periodic check
- Inspect external fire doors, both visually and tested on a monthly basis ensuring free and unobstructed opening
- Ensure all items covered by PUWER are checked twice a year, as per itemised check sheet
- Carry out emergency light testing monthly, as per all lights on site plan and listing
- Ensure MHE batteries are checked and topped up where necessary weekly
- Inspect racking for damages on a weekly basis as part of the racking inspection team, with racking checked against racking rota list
- Ensure heaters are inspected visually on a weekly basis, against a visual inspection list and free from obstructions
- Ensure box strappers are inspected visually and tested on a weekly basis, checking for full working functionality and no build-up of debris.
- Ensure the exterior building lights are checked visually on a monthly basis against site plan
- Complete a weekly visual generator inspection, run test off load monthly and full load test every 3 months
- Ensure fridge and conditioning room are checked on a weekly basis ensuring all live and backup system functioning
- Ensure internal fire doors are inspected visually and tested on a monthly basis ensuring free and unobstructed opening
- Ensure pallet wrappers are checked on a weekly basis ensuring no damage and no build-up of debris
- Ensure trolleys are checked visually on a monthly basis for any form of damage
- Ensure fire extinguishers are checked in house monthly and by an external contractor annually ensuring all units are unused and in correct location against site plan
- Ensure fire bell test is checked and tested on a weekly basis as per weekly test list and procedure. Checking that sounders can be heard in all areas
- Ensure racking repairs are carried out when required as per SESS training and reported on racking inspection list
- Ensure all new contractors are inducted prior to starting work, this is renewed every five years. RAMS and liability insurance to be supplied
- Ensure all new items are PAT tested in house when received, and by an external contractor annually
- Misc. repairs
- Warehouse Walk (visual fault finding)
- Update and maintain system records where appropriate
- Supporting requests to view CCTV in line with policy
- First point of contact for vending machines.
- Understand and comply with job relevant, Companies Practice Standards at all times.
- Understand the Companies standard operating procedures and attend training sessions as appropriate.
- React to any temperature alarms and calls when the temperature monitoring system alerts that a temperature has gone out of permitted parameters required for ambient and chilled products
- Provide out of hours on call cover 24 /7 on a Rota basis and be no more than 30-40 mins away when on call.
- Be flexible and able to stay on after contracted hours in the event of a breakdown of equipment or conveyor.
