Job Overview:
Aveanna Education Services has openings for Full Time and Part Time School Psychologists. The open positions are in a public-school setting working with students in grades K-12. They act along with school counselors as advocates for students’ well-being, and as valuable resources for their educational and personal advancement. The School Psychologist monitors the completion of case study evaluations and participates in Individual Education Plan (IEP) conferences and problem-solving meetings designing systems, programs and services that maximize students’ social, emotional, and educational success. In collaboration with staff, families, students, and communities the school psychologist promotes effective educational environments.
Job Duties:
Conduct psychological assessments and interpret results for students and participate in IEP conferences, and team meetings
Contribute to program development that furthers the integration of social, coping, and problem-solving in the classroom
Attend individual education planning and placement committee meetings when appropriate to participate in the determination of a handicapping condition
Monitor completion of case study evaluations
Participate in building or program activities as needed
Job Requirements:
Master’s degree or Doctoral Degree in School Psychology
State required psychologist license and/or certification
PDE Certification under the state of Pennsylvania
Knowledge of learning processes, appropriate instructional interventions to meet students’ needs, and the ability to implement and assess their effectiveness
Possess good oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, problem solving, and consultation and collaboration skills
STATE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
PA Requirements:
PDE Certification under the state of Pennsylvania
State license in the state of Pennsylvania
Physical Requirements:
Visual acuity and hearing are required for the delivery of assessment, intervention, and consultation services
Occasional lifting of materials and equipment of less than 25 pounds
Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
Must be able to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in a school setting
Environment
• Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
• Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases
