Overview:

Surgical Trauma “3A” is a 33-bed unit, fast-paced med-surg telemetry unit which focuses on adult post- operative and trauma patients. Nurse patient ratios are: Days 5:1, Nights 6:1. On our unit we offer you the opportunity to develop excellent critical thinking skills as well as use a wide variety of clinical skills including:

• • • Head-to-toe assessments
    • Reading and posting telemetry strips
    • IV insertions
    • Catheter, trach, and ostomy care
    • Wound care
    • Chest tubes

Availability includes:

• Full Time (Days or Nights)
• Part Time (Nights)

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
