Scope of Position:
Responsible for making sure all sheet metal parts meet the correct specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
List what the person must do to perform the job to meet standards.
- Perform quality inspection on fabricated parts by interpreting, measuring, and verifying mechanical dimensions and tolerances of parts according to drawings and procedures using standard measuring tools and equipment.
- Perform inspection on work order routers by interpreting drawings and verifying job sequences
- Perform first off, in-process, and final inspections of simple and complex parts.
- Notify Setup person and/or supervisor of detected non-conformances
- Detail discrepancies that warrant repair or remake
- Generate inspection/test reports as required and maintain receiving inspection files
- Interact with Setup people, Production Coordinator, and Product Quality Engineer
- Perform gauge calibration and issuance of gauging
- Responsible for part rejections that do not meet the requirements for acceptance from company drawings
- Communicate inspection findings to Supervisor via reports and/or oral communication
- Observes and obeys all safety rules, practices and procedures
Skills/Experience:
- 2 years of previous in-process inspection or manufacturing quality control experience using measurement equipment, i.e., tape measure, combination square, calipers, and drawing information
- 1-3 years’ experience in sheet metal fabrication
- Perform multiple tasks and work under minimal supervision
- Strong blueprint reading skills including projections and symbols.
- Knowledge of geometric tolerances
- Knowledge of sheet metal material and thicknesses
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and impeccable attention to detail
- Must have interpersonal and communication skills across the organizational levels

Position Requirements:
The Quality Inspector must possess the minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum one year blueprint reading
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds intermittently.
