Manager of External Financial Reporting
This position manages the External Financial Reporting, Corporate Banking, Travel and Fixed Assets Accounting teams within the organization’s Corporate Accounting department.  This position will be responsible for ensuring that financial reports are issued in accordance with GAAP while also overseeing various accounting areas within our organization. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and driven, have strong knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting research, and demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities. What You’ll Do:
You will oversee the External Financial Accounting team that is responsible for the preparation of annual consolidated financial statements, annual employee benefit plan financial statements, and note disclosures supporting the insurance entities’ quarterly and annual regulatory filings.
You’ll coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely audit completion and issuance.
You will research, document, and implement new US GAAP and Statutory basis accounting pronouncements and disclosure requirements, including presentation to Executive Management.
You’ll oversee the Fixed Assets Accounting team that is responsible for the proper recording of all fixed asset additions, disposals, and transfers.
You will oversee the Travel Accounting team that is responsible for the proper recording of travel revenue.
You will also oversee the Corporate Banking team that is responsible for bank reconciliations and unclaimed property.
You’ll work cross-functionally with other departments, such as Investments, Tax, Benefits, Legal, Internal Audit, and Information Systems.
You will work on various projects as assigned, including providing input and analysis to ensure financial statement impacts are properly evaluated when any initiatives or operational changes are made.
What You’ll Need:
BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA license.
Three – five years of managerial experience.
To thrive in this role you will have at least five years of financial statement preparation and/or audit experience, preferably with a large public accounting firm, and some private industry experience a plus.
Insurance industry experience is a plus, but not required.
Prior experience with Oracle Cloud is a plus, but not required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, presentation and leadership skills required.
Ability to effectively manage teams, drive process improvements, work cross-functionally with other departments and confidently interact with Executive Management.

The starting pay range for this position is:
$114,800.00 – $153,100.00
Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
