As a Manager Maintenance, you will be in charge of maintaining the entire HGVC facility, including physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment in accordance with the energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs. Ensure the upkeep of the landscaping and guest areas to maintain an attractive property. Manage all rehabilitation, expansion, and special projects.   • Assigns and verifies completion of all routine maintenance on public spaces, meeting rooms, guest rooms, outlets, back of the house spaces, and grounds. Allocate and confirm all repairs, replacement, and renovation projects to offices and employee work areas.
  • Hire, train, supervise and influence all staff under the direction of the Engineering Department.
  • Adheres to all corporate required purchasing policies and controls to include all outside contractor bids, budgets, and schedules.
  • Maintains effective Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs, conducting special training for other operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and energy at the property.
  • inform the General Manager and other department managers, on a regular basis, regarding the specific and overall condition of the building, structure(s), related systems, and equipment offering prudent and efficient proposals for maintaining same. Has the equipment and training necessary to computerize the building information and provide reports as requested.
  • Maintains appropriate supply of materials and equipment to carry out the normal day-to-day operating and maintenance requirements.
  • Maintains organized and efficient administrative and filling systems within Engineering for the timely and accurate handling of correspondence, reports, requisitions for purchase, and other administrative requirements of the department
  • Maintains a well-defined, and organized system within the shop for the inventory, maintenance, and storage of all tools, products, materials, and equipment implement to complete the required activities.
  • Immediately available to work with the property in the event of any emergency which necessitates the skills and expertise of the Chief Engineer. By example such emergencies may include, but not be limited to, fires, power or other equipment failures, floods, lighting, earthquake, or other disasters of similar nature and magnitude.

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

  • High school/GED
  • 5+Years of engineering experience in hotels or related industry
  • 2+Years of supervisor in the same or similar environment
  • Any licenses or permits that may be needed by law or company regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Experience:

  • Ability to analyze trends in utility consumption to ensure accurate energy forecasting and to set up energy conservation programs
  • Extensive knowledge of construction and building systems
  • Ability to write and speak English to comprehend and communicate job functions to engineering staff

It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Technical Diploma or Trade License a plus
  • 4+ years of management experience
  • Bilingual preferred
