Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Department of Anesthesia is nationally recognized for its quality outcomes and consistent clinical practices. Our cohesive team of pediatric certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) and pediatric anesthesiologists are experts in treating infants and children of all ages. This diverse group of anesthesia providers trained at esteemed institutions around the country and have brought their pediatric anesthesia expertise to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. Many of our anesthesia colleagues have advanced training and specialize in the areas of pain management and congenital heart disease.
At Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, we have an extraordinary team of 20 CRNAs who work collaboratively with anesthesiologists delivering team anesthesia to our vast patient population including complex pediatric cases. Anesthetics are given in various locations throughout the hospital, including the main operating rooms, special procedures unit, radiology, cardiac operating rooms, cardiac catheterization labs, interventional radiology suite, and the intensive care units. Our expert CRNAs care for pediatric patients throughout the perioperative process from a preoperative assessment to intraoperative monitoring and anesthetic management to postoperative recovery and pain management.
Position Summary:
The Certified Nurse Anesthetist provides patient centered, specialized, evidence-based nursing care across the continuum through an inter-professional approach to treatment, research, education and advocacy. CRNA’s are board-certified providers that assume responsibility and accountability for anesthesia and pain care services for pediatric patients at all acuity levels, in a variety of settings for procedures including, but not limited to, surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic. Contributes to the goals of the department by being accountable for the delivery of compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Florida Board of Nursing and JHACH policy.
Who Should Apply:
• Current Florida State Licensure as CRNA
• Clinical Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Nurse Anesthesia
• Current BLS, PALS and ACLS
• Current National Certification as Nurse Anesthetist
