Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Nursing Education, the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) functions in the role of expert clinician, educator, consultant, case manager, and researcher. In collaboration with the medical staff and nursing staff, the CNS monitors the clinical care of patients and provides clinical support to improve patient care and patient outcomes. Incorporated within each of these role functions, the CNS is a role model, patient advocate, change agent, leader, and cost-effective practitioner.
Minimum Qualifications
·        Education
o  Master’s Degree in Nursing.
o  Evidence of ongoing professional development required.
·        Experience
o  Three or more years of clinical nursing experience, including experience in area of specialization.
o  Teaching and consultative experience preferred.
·        Licensure and/or Certification
o  Currently licensed to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.
o  BLS healthcare provider required.
