Job Overview & Essential Functions:
Performs all workers compensation clerical duties necessary to assist the Workers Comp Specialist Team to provide employee and client work-place incident and injury case management,
Utilizes critical thinking skills to effectively communicate information, observations, and/or activities to appropriate individuals,
Essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Monitoring all Employee Safety VERGE event reports and sending follow-up emails to corresponding departments
Monitoring, processing, and scanning all documents to the EMR/Agility received in the Workers Comp Docs email box and appropriately distributing same
Completing medical records requests from law offices and/or insurance carriers via secure fax, Proofpoint encrypted emails or certified mail
Following up with Providers offices to obtain treating Specialists notes
Following up with external clients and insurance carriers for claim numbers via phone and email
Preparing and distributing monthly safety reports and nightly incident emails
Researching and processing ancillary employee Workers Comp bills using Shared drive spreadsheet for forwarding to appropriate contacts
Processing inbound/outbound correspondence – legal updates/emails/certified letters
Scan, fax, copy records as required
Special projects: including annual OSHA reporting data entry
Performs other duties as assigned by Director
Qualifications:
Required:
High School diploma
Good communication/phone skills
Strong computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools – Word, Excel
