POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general direction of the designated Manager, individual will be responsible for operations, installation, and performance of the SAP and Non-SAP Oracle database landscapes. Administer ZFS, ZDLRA. Candidate will serve as the primary point of contact within the organization for the Oracle database environment. Will define and enforce standards related to Oracle database administration. Will be responsible for proactively identifying opportunities to utilize the technology to solve technical and business problems.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary point of contact for all Oracle database issues. Ensuring assigned Oracle Databases are well tuned and requires in-depth working knowledge of Oracle Performance Tuning tools and strong analytical skills. Engage with all efforts related with technical architecture requirements within Oracle solutions. Works with the Lead and team for all Oracle database issues. Will work closely with infrastructure teams (servers, network, etc) to troubleshoot and resolve problems. Actively manage the performance of the various Oracle databases, including capacity planning and tuning. Coordinate with other team members to ensure software consistency across the Oracle landscape. Participate in on-call rotation with other DBA team members and perform weekend maintenance as assigned. Will participate in the IT Change Management process and validate/approval all Oracle database related changes. Work in late shift as per On-Call schedule. Keeps abreast of new developments and forecasts of future trends in the areas of database technology. Strong Infrastructure knowledge for Compute, Network, Storage, Security, HA/DR. Works with internal and external customers to understand their requirements in order to form a forward-thinking architectural vision for the infrastructure of the Company. Provide input on, and support new projects affecting the Oracle database landscape. Experience on Exadata, ZFS, ZDLRA and OCI is desired. Engage and interface directly with Oracle as required for product support/questions. Defines solutions by identifying requirements and writing functional specifications; consults with technical subject matter experts. Advises on options, risks, costs versus benefits and impact on other business processes and system priorities; contributes to cost versus benefit measures. Performs related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent. Normally requires a minimum of seven (7) years directly related and progressively responsible experience in leading architecture design and implementation. Must have experience with Oracle RAC installation and support. Requires experience with implementation, operating, and performance management of Enterprise systems on Oracle Databases. Experience with Oracle GoldenGate, Oracle Advanced Compression, Oracle Identity Management, and Oracle Enterprise Manager tools a plus. Candidates should also have experience working with 3rd party ‘bolt-on’ applications including but not limited to Vendavo, StreamServe, and EDI. Certification preferred.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Must have experience installing and supporting Oracle RAC databases. Minimum 7 yrs. Oracle database experience, with multiple installations. Experience with Oracle GoldenGate a plus. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any other related discipline or equivalent related experience.

4+ years of directly-related or relevant experience, preferably in application support or system/application/database administration.
