    • This is a float Pharmacist position that may travel between any Samaritan retail pharmacy locations. This position is eligible for a $3/hour float pool differential.

    • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
      • Performs the duties of Pharmacist as prescribed by state and federal statutes as well as SHS policies. Prepares and dispenses medication; assesses clinical status of patients (neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics). Provides drug information to the medical team. Educates patients.
    • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
      • Pharmacy Administration provides leadership and direction to the various pharmacy departments and programs at SHS. These include inpatient and outpatient pharmacies, Medication Management and pharmacy residency programs as well as 340B operations. We are staffed with seasoned pharmacists and technicians who help optimize pharmaceutical care throughout our SHS service area.
    • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
      • Current unencumbered Oregon Pharmacist Licensure required.
      • Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
      • All job offers are contingent upon the candidate passing a pre-employment/post offer drug screen.
      • SHS Pharmacy Administration – Outpatient Pharmacist (if applicable):
        • Healthcare Provider Level BLS required within three (3) months of hire.
        • Successful completion of Pharmacist Immunization Certification required within one (1) year of hire.

      • Communication – Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues. Ability to perform group presentations and listen to and understand complex information and ideas. 
      • Computer Literacy – Knowledge of electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, including applications. Ability to operate applications, set up functions, enter data, and manipulate and process information.
      • Social Perceptiveness – Ability to work with a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics. Basic understanding of age-related differences in caring for and/or communicating with patients and caregivers. Possess personal sensitivity to the needs and experiences of others and a non-judgmental attitude towards persons of differing standards, values, lifestyles and ages.
